On our quiet days we spend time together, eat together, have some structured meditative time and quiet based arts-based activities. Don’t panic no previous experience or knowledge of meditation or arts is necessary. You’re welcome if this is your first time or whether you attend regularly.
We’ve found that slowing down and spending time together, listening to each other and having time to share on a deeper level really helps feel more present and attentive to ourselves and each other. We welcome people from many different faith and spiritual backgrounds including people with no particular faith belief or experience.
You’re welcome to be as involved as you want to be. You may want to be involved in everything including the structured meditative exercises or you may want to spend time in the garden and being quiet. We’ve found that spending time together and “being” is as important as “doing”.
There is no charge for the day though if you’d like to make a donation then please do. All that is collected will go towards enabling future quiet days.
All ages are welcome. If you want to attend then please do let us know as this will help with catering. All food is vegetarian.
We have a number of ideas as to the quiet meditative activities that we will do in the afternoons. These include poetry, art, bread making . . . however if you have a particular skill or experience that you’d like to offer then please do tell us. We all go to make up the Quiet Day experience.
